You will develop, implement, and optimize AI models, data pipelines, and data analysis to build out our market intelligence platform.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and serve open-source LLMs (vLLM, TGI, Ollama) on GPU cloud infrastructure (RunPod, Modal, Vast.ai)
- Build and optimize RAG pipelines over Supabase / PostgreSQL for real-time research retrieval
- Design agentic workflows that automate data collection, enrichment, and analysis
- Develop evaluation and quality frameworks: hallucination detection, scoring benchmarks, output grading
- Model cost-per-token economics across providers (Anthropic, Google, OpenAI vs. self-hosted) to optimize spend
- Build data pipelines that process thousands of sources into structured, queryable intelligence
Qualifications
- Strong Python and/or TypeScript skills in production environments
- Hands-on experience deploying and serving LLMs at scale
- Deep understanding of data pipeline architectures (ingestion, transformation, serving)
- Experience with RAG systems, vector databases, and retrieval-augmented generation patterns
- Familiarity with LLM evaluation methods and quality assurance
- Bonus: experience in financial data, digital assets, or institutional research

We're looking for a technical leader to own the architecture, infrastructure, and engineering execution behind 51 Terminal and our broader intelligence platform. This is a leadership role for someone who has built and shipped data-intensive products at scale, and wants to do it again at the intersection of AI, financial data, and digital assets.
What you'll own
- Define and execute the technical roadmap for 51 Terminal, our market intelligence platform serving institutional clients
- Architect the full stack: Next.js front-end, Supabase/PostgreSQL data layer, AI pipelines, and API infrastructure
- Lead the design and scaling of data ingestion systems processing thousands of sources into structured, queryable intelligence
- Build and optimize AI/ML infrastructure: LLM orchestration, RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, evaluation frameworks
- Make build-vs-buy decisions across the stack, managing cost-per-token economics, hosting, and third-party integrations
- Own platform reliability, security, and performance as we scale from beta to enterprise-grade deployment
- Hire and lead the engineering team as the company grows
What we're looking for
- 7+ years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role at a high-growth startup or product company
- Track record of shipping production systems end-to-end, not just prototypes
- Deep hands-on experience with modern web stacks (TypeScript, React/Next.js, Node.js) and relational databases (PostgreSQL)
- Strong understanding of AI/ML infrastructure: deploying LLMs, building RAG systems, designing evaluation pipelines
- Experience building and scaling data pipelines (ingestion, transformation, enrichment, serving)
- Proven ability to make sound architectural decisions under ambiguity and resource constraints
- Comfort operating as a player-coach: writing code, reviewing PRs, and setting technical direction simultaneously
- Bonus: background in fintech, digital assets, or institutional financial services
- Bonus: experience with Supabase, Vercel, or similar modern deployment platforms
